Mesoscale Discussion 1101 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0724 PM CDT Tue Jun 03 2025 Areas affected...Extreme eastern IA into northern IL and extreme southern WI Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 361... Valid 040024Z - 040200Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 361 continues. SUMMARY...Threat for severe/damaging wind and line-embedded tornadoes will spread northeastward this evening. DISCUSSION...A storm cluster with embedded circulations remains intense early this evening near/south of Davenport, IA. Deep-layer shear vectors remain favorably orthogonal with this line segment, with stronger cores aloft indicating the presence of embedded supercells within this cluster. Favorably moist and sufficiently unstable downstream conditions favor maintenance of this system into a larger portion of northwest IL. A wind gust of 81 mph was recorded earlier in Burlington, IA, and wind gusts of 60-80 mph remain possible with this intense storm cluster. Low-level flow/shear is strengthening ahead of the system (as noted on the KILX VWP), and line-embedded tornadoes will continue to be possible, given the presence of embedded supercell structures. The severe threat may eventually spread east of WW 361, and local expansion of the watch will continue to be possible with time this evening. ..Dean.. 06/04/2025 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product...
