FILE VIDEO – Skiing on an erupting volcano certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted, but it wasn’t enough to deter a team of professional skiers recently, who glided where lava meets snow on the flank of Mount Etna.
An eruption has occurred at Italy’s Mt. Etna volcano on Monday, sending people scrambling for safety as dangerous pyroclastic flows sweep down the mountain.
Few details have been released, but photos and videos near the area show thick, toxic smoke rising into the sky as the eruption continued, while pyroclastic flows barreled down the side of the volcano.
