The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Far Western Arkansas
Central and Eastern Oklahoma
* Effective this Saturday morning from 230 AM until 1000 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible
SUMMARY...Mainly elevated supercells should continue to pose a
threat for isolated severe hail this morning. A cluster of
thunderstorms in south-central Kansas should spread southeastward
across parts of central and eastern OK over the next several hours.
This activity may pose some threat for scattered severe/damaging
winds, with peak gusts potentially reaching up to 60-70 mph.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 115
statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles northeast of
Ponca City OK to 30 miles south southwest of Mcalester OK. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
